Solution 01 — Business Systems

Business systems built around how you really work.

Custom ERP, CRM and POS systems — and the internal tools in between — built after we listen to how your business runs. No template to bend your day around.

Case study · behind the counter of a busy venue

A POS was only half the answer.

First the business ran on Excel. Then it got a POS that needed the internet. Then it got one counter that never stops.

Chapter 01 / Before there was a POS

The doors were busy. The records weren't keeping up.

This is the sheet they ran on. Five cells are wrong — click the red ones.

Who gets hurt

When the business runs on Excel, everyone pays.

01

ClientsA $100 refund became a $10.47 million payment. One manual typing error: an account number entered in the amount field.A crypto exchange, 2021 · Australian dollars · reported by Fortune and The Register

02

StaffA quarter of the week goes on repetitive manual work. Over 40% of workers say they spend at least a quarter of their week on manual, repetitive tasks such as data entry.Smartsheet survey of US office workers, 2017

03

FinanceFraud hides for a year. The median fraud runs about 12 months before anyone detects it, and a spreadsheet keeps no record of who changed what.ACFE Report to the Nations, 2024

04

OwnerDecisions on numbers that are wrong. A global bank’s $6bn “London Whale” trading loss ran through a risk model built from spreadsheets filled in by manual copy and paste.US Senate report, 2013

Under all of itErrors are the norm, not the exception. Field audits find errors in 88–94% of the business spreadsheets they check.Panko, University of Hawaii

So they bought a POS. It was the right first step. It also created a new dependency.

Chapter 02 / They had a POS. Now what?

Better software. Same single point of failure.

A POS that lives on the internet is only as reliable as the connection on the busiest night. There are three kinds of bad night — watch each one, or pick one.

Fixing the spreadsheet wasn't enough. The counter had to keep selling whatever the internet did.

Chapter 03 / UNO's approach

Continuity at the counter. Control behind it.

The feature has a name: Offline Mode — the standard name for it across the industry. Try it: switch the internet off and keep selling.

Same business. Different Monday.

Monday morning, with Excel

  1. Collect the paper notes from each counter
  2. Retype them into three files
  3. Guess the visitor numbers nobody counted
  4. Call the branches to explain the differences
  5. Send the report — by the afternoon

Your till shouldn't depend on your Wi-Fi.

Tell us how your business runs today and get a straight answer on what a system like this would change.

The same team stays with you from the first call to the day it goes live.

Does it fit my business?

You don't pick from a menu. You tell us how it runs.

Tell us how your business runs today — the counter, the stock, the follow-ups — and we will tell you honestly what a system could change, and what it could not. We have built for a multi-company group, for venues and for schools. The same way of working applies to restaurants, shops, clinics and warehouses.

ERP for manufacturing and trading groups

One ERP system for the whole group.

An ERP system for manufacturing brings purchasing, customs, warehouse stock, the factory floor, sales, money and HR into one database, so every department reads the same numbers. We build it around how your group really works: a barcode on every item, an audit and approval step on every sale, HR and payroll included, and a phone app for the people on site.

Looking for a warehouse management system with barcode scanning, procurement and landed-cost tracking, or an HR and payroll system for Egypt? In our ERP they are modules of one system — you do not buy four products and glue them together.

Questions owners ask

POS, ERP and CRM, answered straight.

What is a POS system?

A POS (point of sale) system is the software at your counter that records sales, takes payments and prints receipts. A good one also tracks stock, staff, discounts and reports, so you can see the whole business — not only the till.

Can a POS system work without internet?

Yes. This is called offline mode. The till keeps selling and printing receipts, saves each sale on the device, and syncs everything in order when the connection returns. The case study above lets you try it.

How much does a POS system cost?

It depends on what your business needs: how many tills and branches, which payments, memberships, offers and reports. Off-the-shelf POS tools charge per month; a custom POS is scoped after a short discovery call, and you get a fixed quote in writing — not an open meter.

What is an ERP system?

An ERP system connects sales, stock, purchasing, accounting and HR in one place, so data is entered once and is right everywhere. We build ERP systems around how your business actually works, not a template you bend your day around.

What is a CRM system?

A CRM system keeps every lead, customer, follow-up and deal in one place so nobody is forgotten. A custom CRM can add WhatsApp and email, and send reminders when a follow-up is due.

What is an inventory management system?

It tracks what you have, what is on order and what is running low, and alerts you before you run out. It works best when it is connected to sales, so the numbers update by themselves.

How much does custom software development cost?

There is no honest price list, because every project is different. We start by listening to how your business runs, agree the smallest useful first version, and give you a fixed quote in writing. You see it working early, and grow from there.

What is an ERP system?

An ERP (enterprise resource planning) system is one software system that runs a company's core work — purchasing, stock, production, sales, finance and HR — from a single database, so every department sees the same numbers instead of keeping separate files.

Do you build ERP systems for manufacturing companies?

Yes. We are building a group-wide ERP for a manufacturing and trading group that buys from many countries across Europe, works in two countries and sells in Egypt: purchasing, customs, warehouse stock, the factory floor, selling, money and HR in one system. It is being built now, and the case study above shows exactly which parts are done.

Can an ERP track every item with a barcode scanner?

Yes. In this system every item is a serialized unit with its own barcode — a goods receipt cannot be completed without a serial per unit. A barcode-reader app for receiving, moving, fixing and selling items is being built.

Can an ERP handle procurement, customs and landed cost?

Yes. Suppliers, purchase orders and procurement budgets lead into shipments, customs clearance and settlements, so freight and duties are attached to each item and its real cost is known.

Can the ERP include HR and payroll?

Yes. Employee files, attendance by site, leave balances, contracts with expiry alerts, and payroll with tax and insurance profiles and penalties are part of the same system. An Android app lets employees check in within 30 metres of their assigned site.

How do you control sales inside an ERP?

Every selling item moves under an audit and approval step inside the ERP — no sale is final without it — and an audit log records who did what on every change.
