How much does an app cost? UNO’s starting prices explained
1. Start with the type of product you need
“An app” can mean a public website, a browser-based tool or a mobile app installed on a phone. First describe what someone must be able to do: book an appointment, buy a product, manage records or receive updates. That workflow is more useful for pricing than a list of screens.
If customers only need information and a contact form, a company website may be enough. If they need accounts and a shared work area, a web app may fit. If the product needs a phone-specific experience, discuss Android, iPhone or both.
2. UNO’s published starting prices
| Product | Starting from (USD) |
|---|---|
| Company website using a ready template | $300 |
| Company website with a custom design | $1,500 |
| Online store | $2,000 |
| Custom website or web app with logins or a portal | $3,000 |
| Simple mobile app for one platform | $3,500 |
| Mobile app with accounts, payments and an admin panel | $5,000 |
Both app prices are for one platform, Android or iPhone. Every project gets a written quote that lists the platforms and the features included.
These dollar prices are for clients outside Egypt. Clients in Egypt have their own prices in Egyptian pounds: أسعار مصر بالجنيه.
3. What changes the quote?
- Workflows: a simple form differs from booking availability, refunds or several approval steps.
- User roles: customers, staff and managers may need different screens and permissions.
- Platforms: agree whether the release covers Android, iPhone, a browser or several of these.
- Connections: payment providers, accounting software and existing systems need defined integration work.
- Design and data: custom interfaces, offline behaviour and migrating existing records add work.
Ask for a quote against written requirements. Two prices are only comparable when they cover the same scope, testing, handover and support.
4. Plan for costs after launch
Separate development from hosting, domains, external services and payment-provider fees. Ask which recurring costs you pay directly and which are included in the agreement.
UNO’s monthly support starts from $20 for a basic plan and from $100 for a business that depends on its website or app every day. Your quote lists what each plan covers.
MVPs, SaaS platforms and online payment integration receive a fixed quote in writing rather than a published starting price.
5. Send a brief that can be priced
Include who will use the app, the main action they need to complete, the platform, essential features and any systems it must connect to. Add examples of your current process and a target launch date. If the budget is limited, ask for a first release with one useful workflow.
“Customers need to request appointments on Android. Staff need to confirm them in an admin panel. The first version needs customer accounts and notifications. Payments can wait. Please quote the included screens, testing, handover and ongoing costs separately.”
The client owns the code and data in UNO projects. Confirm how the source code, credentials and documentation will be handed over as part of your agreement.
6. Questions to ask before accepting
Is a starting price my final price? No. The written quote defines your price and scope.
Can I release a smaller version first? Yes, if it still solves the core problem. Our small-first-version guide explains how to choose what waits.
How do I compare suppliers? Use our software-company checklist to compare delivery, ownership and support alongside price.
